Another reason that 2FA may not be working is if you have selected the wrong portal. Google Authenticator or any Authenticator app you are using manages different 2FA tokens; make sure proper attention is given to the correct token. Also, tokens are valid for only 30 seconds, if not used within that time, they will expire. Make sure you enter it within the 30-second time frame.
